Emergency Services
The Emergency Unit is responsible for the provision of medical and surgical care to patients arriving at the hospital in need of urgent or emergency care.
The Bank Hospital (TBH) Emergency Centre (EC) runs 24-hour Service. The EC serves as the definitive specialized care facility equipped and staffed to provide rapid and varied emergency care to all people with life-threatening conditions. It is a place where patients with potentially life-threatening symptoms such as headache, chest pain, abdominal pain, collapse of unknown cause and severe injury are attended to in the hospital.
In the EC, cardiac emergencies are managed including cardiac arrest, acute stroke, hypertensive emergencies, shock and others. Other emergencies such as drug poison cases, severe allergies, snake bite, Road Traffic Accidents (RTA) cases and many other medical and surgical emergencies for both adults and children.
Such patients having pressing needs may present without prior appointment. They may also report to the EC on their own or by an ambulance.
