Job Summary
The Dental Surgeon will provide comprehensive dental care, including diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of oral health issues. The role involves performing dental procedures, advising patients on oral health maintenance, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Management:
- Examine patient’s teeth and diagnose dental conditions, assess treatment options and treatment plans with patients and carry out agreed clinical treatment in conformance with approved clinical protocols and guidelines
- Educates patients in the nature of oral health related conditions and in the general promotion of oral health related disease prevention
- Professionalism:
- Serve on the dental staff and other committees of the Bank Hospital as assigned
- Maintain professionalism and adhere to patient confidentiality
- Documentation And Reporting:
- Prepare and submit monthly reports on Dental Department issues, concerns, program status, initiatives, and progress to the Medical Director
- Record patient-dentist transactions in the patient’s dental record including the condition of the patient and the care or treatment provided
- Coach and supervise staff in their day-to-day activities and provide yearly assessment reports
- Continuous Quality Improvement:
- Participate as a member of the Waste Management Committee and Internal Control Committee
- Constantly update knowledge
- Assist in the provision of continuing education, on-the-job training, and the orientation of dental centre staff as requested
- Assist in the review and development of policies, procedures and protocols to be up to date with current medical standards of practice
- Team Collaboration
- Work closely with dental assistants and administrative staff to ensure seamless operations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients with complex medical conditions.
- Employee Development:
- Provide one-on-one coaching and support to employees to help them achieve professional growth.
- Promote a learning culture that encourages continuous education and skills development.
Key Requirements
- Education/ Experience:
- Minimum of a Doctor of Medicine degree in Dentistry plus Registration and License to Practice.
- Must be a member of the Medical and Dental Council of Ghana / a recognized professional body.
- Must have a minimum five (5) years post specialization experience.

- Comprehensive knowledge of primary dental care in outpatient settings
