Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death globally, taking an estimated 17.9 million lives each year. 3/4 of the world’s death from cardiovascular diseases occur in low middle income countries of which Ghana is inclusive. People in low middle income countries with cardiovascular diseases have less access to effective, equitable and comprehensive cardiovascular care services to respond to their needs. As a result, people in these countries die early from cardiovascular diseases often in their most productive years.
