Applications Support Officer
Role Summary:
The post-holder will be responsible for the day-to-day support, administration and maintenance of the Clinical and Non-clinical applications used by the Hospital.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Liaise with external consultants and suppliers in respect of technical issues.
- Liaise with suppliers for the turnaround and resolution of any support queries raised ensuring they are logged and tracked appropriately.
- Discuss complex IT data/issues with other members of the IT Department and third-party support staff to identify and resolve problems.
- Provide specialist training to members of the IT Department and training to other staff when required.
- Monitor the system housekeeping activities and ensure timely resolution of any queries raised by the IT helpdesk that need further investigation.
- Create and update Standard Operating Procedures to ensure correct use of the system ensuring all staff groups adhere to them.
- Investigate any reported cases of system misuse or data inaccuracy and recommend actions to resolve.
- Use the IT Department’s HelpDesk system to report system issues.
- Perform webmaster duties for the Hospital.
- Conduct other system administration activities as required.
Education and Experience:
- First degree in computer science or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience within a technical support environment, including Database Administration and other software experience.
- Ability to develop JSON and REST APIs.
- Microsoft or related professional certification especially on MS SQL is ideal.
- Proven ability to resolve problems efficiently and effectively.
