Professor Richard MK Adanu has been the Rector of Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons since February 2021.
He is a Specialist Obstetrician Gynaecologist and Women’s Reproductive Health Epidemiologist. In addition to being a Fellow of Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, he is also a Fellow of West African College of Surgeons and an honorary Fellow of American College of Obstericians and Gynecologists.
He graduated from the University of Ghana Medical School and completed his postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana. He later obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health as a Gates scholar and was admitted into the Delta Omega Public Health Honor Society.
Professor Adanu has extensive experience in the fields of maternal mortality and morbidity reduction, contraceptive use by women and cervical cancer screening and has served locally and internationally as a consultant in these areas. He served as the Dean of the University of Ghana School of Public Health from August 2012 to July 2018 and as the Dean he led a large number of research projects at the school. In the area of medical education, Professor Adanu has developed a number of interactive web-based educational material in Obstetrics and Gynaecology which are used extensively by medical students and a number of practitioners all over the world.
Professor Adanu served as the Editor in Chief of the International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics from 2014 to 2020. His research is in both the clinical and social aspects of women’s health. Professor Richard Adanu has served as a mentor for many Ghanaian and international trainees in both clinical practice and research career development. His research interests are epidemiology of obstetric and gynaecological disorders in Ghana, family planning, cervical cancer screening and maternal injuries.
Some of his previous international responsibilities include leading a consortium of 11 African universities to facilitate an educational mobility program funded by the European Union and serving as an external consultant for the Research Capacity Strengthening, Reproductive Health and Research Department, WHO Geneva. Professor Adanu is widely published in the fields of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Women’s Health with over 120 peer reviewed publications, several Editorial publications as well chapters in books and technical reports.

GRACE AWOTWE
Grace Awotwe is a Senior Finance Professional with over 14 years’ experience in various industries. Her experiences include Financial Management, Accounting, Procurement, Business Development, Internal Control and Risk Management.
Grace started her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) working in Ghana and Liberia. Due to her exceptional working ethics, she was ranked as a high performer throughout her career in PwC.
Prior to joining The Bank Hospital, she worked as the Chief Finance Officer at Veolia Ghana Limited, a multinational company. Grace has also worked in key positions at Goldkey Properties Limited and Scania West Africa Limited. Her vast experience includes the setting up of the Finance Departments of these organisations. She also has strong strategic financial planning skills and an ability to liaise with various stakeholders to maximise shareholder value.
Grace is excellent in providing coaching and mentoring to other young finance professionals both within and outside her organization.
Grace holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Cape Coast and an EMBA in Finance from the University of Ghana, Legon. She is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) and a member of ICA (Ghana). She is a proud old student of Wesley Girls’ High School, Cape Coast.

Francis Oppang, PMP®, is a seasoned professional with over 13 years of experience in administrative management, project leadership, and strategic planning. He excels in driving organizational success through innovative solutions and effective team management, with expertise spanning healthcare, military services, and corporate management.
As Chief Operations Officer of The Bank Hospital, Francis ensures efficient operation of ancillary support and non-nursing clinical services. He collaborates with management to reduce operational costs, enhance revenues, and develop data-driven management decisions.
Hitherto, as Hospital Administrator for Nyaho Medical Centre, Francis optimized operations, ensured patient and staff satisfaction, and maintained regulatory compliance. His leadership fostered a collaborative work environment and improved patient experience.
In the Ghana Armed Forces Medical Services, Francis held key roles such as Principal Administrative Manager and Officer In-charge of Insurance, enhancing administrative management and insurance coordination. His strategic approach and IT solutions improved efficiency and revenue generation.
As a member of the Project Management Institute and Director of Operations, Administration in the Ghana Chapter, Francis oversees content creation for the Chapter’s monthly publications (PMHUb) and other administrative duties.
